Times of Basketball Trouble
Woah. That was a rough one. Despite the loss at the hands of Simpson, the men's basketball team isn't a lost cause quite yet. Their near miss against BV last weekend certainly attests to that. A win over UD on Saturday would be a nice way to head into post season action.
Here are the highlights from Saturday's game.
Early Season Success on the Court and in the Pool
Lindsay Bava and her 20 points per game have sparked a 6-3 (2-0 IIAC) start for the Duhawk basketball team. The junior leads the IIAC in scoring after dropping in 30 against Upper Iowa. Bava is just one of many players starting off the season well. Newcomer Alex Hudson is currently averaging 12.3 points per game and leads the team in rebounds.
Of Loras' three losses, one was against DII Winona St. and another was against DIII power UW-Whitewater (Whom Loras led for a good portion of the game). Conference championship contention isn't out of the question for this team.

Another squad enjoying a December to remember is the swim team. The Loras men and women are 3-2 and 4-2, respectively. Both teams sit at second in the IIAC behind conference juggernaut Luther. Zach Gries and Alex Proctor were named IIAC swimmers of the week for Dec. 8-14. Among other Duhawks garnering that honor already this year are Andy Pape,Kenzie Murray, and Lauren Lehenbauer.
29-4
The Loras volleyball team kept up their winning ways with a perfect showing at the UW-Platteville Triangular on Friday. The Duhawks defeated the hosts and UW-Superior making their record on the season a stellar 29-4. We'll have highlights from the UW-S victory this week on SportsZone. With a win Tuesday against Simpson, Loras can secure the Iowa Conference regular season title.
