The Off Week!
Since we don't have a SportsZone this week, we'll give you some tid-bits from this off-week in Loras athletics!
Track Thrives with Warm Weather Training
Here's a video from the latest episode of SportsZone. Our resident track reporter Mike Higgins joined the track team on their trip to Florida and Georgia. Here's what he got about the team's experience.
If you're a little behind on your Loras track and field, here a few videos from their indoor season.
Duhawks "Spring" Into Action
Sorry for the corny headline, but Loras' spring athletes are off to a hot start. The baseball team is 5-1 in Florida this week, while the softball squad split their first two in the Sunshine State. Another team making their way south is the track team who just finished the indoor season.
Here are some highlights from the spring break action:
Baseball:
John Schroeder is hitting .423 on the season.
Ben Kuebel is hitting .417 with 13 RBI and 7 runs.
Sophomore Austin Brown singled home Kuebel in the ninth inning to lift Loras past Pitt-Greensburg 8-7 on Friday.
Softball:
Loras whipped McDaniel 12-4 to open the Florida roadtrip.
Track:
The outdoor season starts this weekend at Emory in Atlanta.
Chris Buresh placed 8th in the indoor high jump, the women's DMR finished 5th.
